Last Wellness TV Show

On Monday I attended the Wellness TV meeting from 4:30 until 5 p.m. We discussed the last show for the year and assigned packages. I'm doing a show about summer jobs. On Thursday, I interviewed Mrs. Coso in the Career Center from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m.. The interview went well, accept that the camera had a shoe on it that didn't go with the tripod I had, and I couldn't get it off! I had to balance the camera on the tripod during the interview. I'm hoping the video is not too shaky. Before I went to the second shoot, Dakota came by to see if she could figure it out. She snapped it right off with one twist of her wrist, of course. My sorority has asked me to shoot their recruitment video this year, since Bivens is graduating. Yesterday I interviewed four girls around various places on campus. My Final cut freestyle isn't working.. so I have to us imovie, which is hugely frustrating. I worked yesterday from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m., and then edited from 10:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.

Wellness TV and Other Stories

Yesterday I helped Dakota with some of her projects. First, I worked this sound during her studio shoot for some people talking about FERPA. We worked from 1 until 2 p.m. The lady did a really good job, but she got in a tiff with the other lady about whether or not the video should have scrolling words on it. It was interesting to watch. Then I helped Dakota shoot some interview for her friends' business project from 2 until 3 p.m. We just used a regular point and shoot digital camera. This morning, Taylor Sullivan and I edited fitness with Sarah from 9 until 10 a.m. This was a great chance for me to sit down with Taylor and talk about basic editing, like setting in and out points and how to move the clips onto the timeline. She also learned how to insert video transitions, such as cross dissolve and page peel, and how to put video over a sound byte.

Lakeland Women's Club 100th Birthday

Yesterday I shot the Lakeland Women's Club's 100th Birthday with Kirsten from 2:00 until 4:30 p.m. Many very important people were there, including the mayor of Lakeland. There was also lots of entertainment from South Eastern University and FSC. During our interview with the President of the club, I learned that she was a FSC alum, and an Alpha Chi Omega. She had lots of positive things to say about our school, and greek life. The ladies were all very kind, and graciously allowed me to sample their finger foods because I was starving. Overall, I had a good time. I didn't feel stressed about trying to get enough of the right sequence patterns or any of that, I just shot the way I wanted to. It was strangely relaxing, and I felt important to be at my first "big girl" job!

Wellness TV Mini-Pack: Done!

Yesterday, I went to the Wellness TV meeting from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m. We talked about next week show, and future packages. I will be doing a package on scholarships for college students. Then, Dakota and Nya helped me shoot my stand up for my mini pack about losing your wallet. We worked from 5:30 until 6:10. It took a really long time because we had a lot of trouble with the teleprompter and ended up using sheets for me to read off of. Today I edited the footage from 11:00-11:30. Dakota changing the sheets of paper as I read created a shadow on the screen, so I had to stretch it out and to me it looked kind of blurry. But Michelle in all of her magic could probably fix it.

Wellness TV

Yesterday I worked on Wellness TV from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. I wrote the script for our PSA. Then today, Taylor Sullivan and I were going to shoot the PSA outside of the Safety Office, but we discovered that the mic battery had gone dead. I am going to give the camera to Michelle today so that it can be fixed, and reschedule the shoot for Monday after 3 p.m.
